Radioactive waste is the collective name for spent fuel, related materials and waste, which is produced in the process of military activities, industrial production and scientific research. It must be adopted proper methods to package, handle and storage these radioactive wastes. It must be first classified, packaged and labeled, and then hoisted, transported and temporary stored waste barrels in the process of dealing with radioactive waste. According to the requirement of nuclear power plants, this paper designs and manufactures a equipment which is used to hoist and deal with radioactive waste drum based on the near field wireless control technology.The near field wireless technology is an important aspect in information science. There are many typical near field wireless technologies such as IrDA infrared technology, Bluetooth technology, Radio Frequency Identification technology, ZigBee Technology, UWB technology (ultra-wideband technology). This paper designed a system based on radiofrequency technology, which used to hoist and deal with radioactive waste drum and wireless control. This paper also designed the related software. The system could allow users to control the waste drum hoisting and collect the related information in the control room, without the close contacting with the radioactive waste.
