Vigorous development in information technology today, a variety of information appliances continue to emerge, and the family has gradually become an important information infrastructure components. In recent years,with the development of computer technology and information industries,intelligent systems have been moving into residential districts and families. Smart Family is a combination of advanced technologies, through integrated management, to make home life more comfortable, safe and effective. As an important component of intelligent residential smart family platform is that through its central- the family home intelligent terminals to achieve intelligence. At domestic and abroad, with more than ten years of development, home intelligence has received more and more people's favorite.In this paper, a comprehensive analysis of the family at home and abroad on the basis of the status of intellectual development, using ARM, current advanced technologies, developed a smart family terminal system. The system is divided into two parts, they are console and sub-control units. Console using ARM9 chip S3C2440 as the CPU, sub-control units using ARM7 chip LPC2103 as the CPU. System combines GPRS wireless communication technology, AT commands, to achieve local control and remote control, Users can either through touch-screen buttons to monitor the home appliances, or by sending mobile phone text messages to control the home devices; Use custom wireless communication protocols and serial communications to achieve the universal remote control home appliances function. The system selected Windows CE operating system, and use the Platform Builder and the EVC software program development.The function of the system embodied in the two aspects,they are security defense, and intelligent control. In the aspect of security defense, through infrared sensors, acoustic sensors, temperature sensors to achieve a variety of threshold overrun detection, followed by the form of voice and SMS to notify the user. In the aspect of intelligent control, mainly through the universal remote control module, intelligent lighting control module, mobile phone remote control module, and background music control module to complete. Through the system testing, the stability of the system work to achieve the requirements of the smart family.
