Research And Application On Catalog Service Of E-Government Information Resources

With the development of the network as well as the computer technology, the development of E-Government has been emphasized lots by the nation all over the world. As the result, E-Government developed quickly and prospectively abroad. However, the degree of the development in E-Government in our nation seems stay in a primary phase especially comparing with the foreign countries while the governments in all levels have devoted greatly in both material and human resources. Nowadays, the biggest problem facing us is that the E-Government systems in different places are still behind closed doors. Thus, the utilizing of government resources is still difficult. The level of information exchanging and sharing and cooperation of the systems is also in a primary phase.Aimed at such problem, this paper has pointed out that the way to solve it is the implementation of the exploitation, utilizing and exchange pattern based on metadata. To solve the "isolated information island" problem, the conception of metadata should be introduced into the government field. The information that collected from various government departments with certain method can be utilized greatly by the Catalog service and exchange systems.1) This paper analyzed the research, development and application on metadata technology and catalog service.2) This paper proposed a optimized query algorithm based on regular query algorithm, which can be applied in distributed system.3) This paper made deep research and discussion on e-gov information resources catalog service system framework, and proposed a feasible solution.4) This paper proposed the design and implementing of a e-gov information resources catalog service prototype system.The subject comes from the lab project built by Donghua University and Shanghai Baosight inc. Management of e-gov information resources unified description can prevents from duplication among various departments, helps interoperability, sharing and exchange, facilitates user's visit and resources management, provides a reference scheme for government information resource platform building and makes contribution to the government information resource system building in our country.
