| Hair is one of the most important visual features for a cartoon characters. One can completely change appearance once change hairstyle. Meanwhile, the cartoon hair often contains character personality and emotion, so in the cartoon design, the design of the hair of the character plays an important role. Traditional cartoon production needs the animator to draw the frames one by one, which is not only time-consuming, but also requires that the animators should have a rich experience of life and possess a sophisticated skill in drawing.base on the research of cartoon hair generation, we proposal a method for cartoon hair generation. The user generates the simple model of the hair with interaction, and accomplish the cartoon hair animation with the inverse kinematics.In order to achieve the above goal, we need to complete the following three tasks: (1) design geometry model of cartoon hair, 2) design user interface, 3) cartoon hair animation based on inverse kinematics. In hair modeling, the main consideration is how to simulation cartoon hair and how to facilitate cartoon users. In this paper, we divide the cartoon hair model into two parts: hair grow area model and basic model. we also add some model parameters to the hair, which facilitate the hair control. In interactive interface, we design a user-friend interface which makes it easy to use; In hair animation, the user establish the hair model with several different states and also gives the path of some key points. The system can generate the cartoon hair animation automatically. |
