Recent years, computer technology develops rapidly, virtual characters are widely used in movies, games and advertisements. As a part of virtual characters research, the simulation and dynamic realization of hair are very complex, and involve every side of computer graphic technique, and have important theory value. Hair styling and its dynamic realization are still very challenging problems in the area of computer graphics. The content of this paper includes hair modeling, hair styling and dynamic realization.An algorithm which supports various hairstyles is described and implemented in this paper. This paper also proposes a dynamic realization method of hair and can achieve a faster speed with the support of the graphics hardware. In this paper, strand model is used to express hair and we model a hair strand as a Markov Random Process. Hair styling, use three styling constraints: point constraint, trajectory constraint, and direction constraint. It is a method which can model hair with simple structure and can support multiple hairstyles. The spring hair model of Byoungwon Choe is use for dynamic realization of hair. Linear springs and angular springs are added to the original hair model. This is a physics-based dynamic simulation technique.The algorithm can achieve real-time rendering of various hairstyles in high quality. OpenGL, WildMagic4 and Osg are used as development tools, which have good portability. So this software features good portability, efficiency. It can archive hairstyles with high quality on an ordinary PC.
