Design And Implement Of A WLAN Access Device Management System

The goal of this paper is to design and implement a WLAN management system. The system could unitedly manage and operate the network element devices in Shanghai Telecom wireless local area network (WLAN); it could also monitor and maintain devices according to different sections.The access point management system (APMS) could make use of the maximum resources of the telecom network. APMS could improves the quality and efficiency of the network mangament,maintenance and support abilities and offer good communication services to users.On system design and realization, on the base of Shanghai WLAN structure and maintenance requirements, this paper works out a system structure which could conform to the characteristics of netword and meet maintenance demands of system structure. This paper also analyzes the system construction feasibility and makes clear functions of the system.On system interface, according to the characteristic of WLAN, this paper researches on the interface between WLAN APMS and WLAN access devices and put forward united interface criteria to adapt to network management system. The criteria make clear the method of data interactions of network management system and put forward united interface requirement of operating devices on net.On system application, combined with the system application after system completion, this paper introduces the field point management,field point construction,fault repair,performance analysis,maintenance and management of the system, emphases the improvement to the maintenance and optimization level.The meaning of this paper is that the system designs system framework which satisfies management, maintenance and support functions, it also specifies the interface between WLAN APMS and hotspot devices according to the detail requirements of the development projects. Now the system is operating on Shanghai Telecom WLAN. It strengthens the management of WLAN devices and has prominent effect on the improvement to the maintenance and support level.
