Ad Hoc network is an autonomous multi-hop network consisting of mobile nodes connecting by wireless links without any centralized administration. It is quite suitable to be used in some special situations such as military, disaster rescue, wireless sensor network etc as its advantage of self-organizing, infrastrucrureless, and invulnerability. The routing protocol is an important research area in Ad Hoc network research areas. In Ad Hoc routing protocols, passive routing protocol can effectively reduce the overhead of traffic for controlling in Mobile Ad Hoc Network, compared with initiative routing protocol. I choose the currently popular AODV routing protocol. However, the research of routing protocol in Ad Hoc network is only focused on theoretical research and stimulation, there is little practical application till now and there is less little application in the embedded application. It is very necessary to implement AODV protocol in embedded test-bed to test the real actual performance of AODV. The paper chooses a suitable solution to implement AODV protocol, transplants AODV protocol to PowerPC embedded platform, transplants VW2010 video card and DVS to embedded platform, and sets up embedded test-bed to test the real Ad hoc. After setting up test-bed, it tests the performance of the AODV and does some experiments based on the test-bed like the experiment of transmitting video in Ad Hoc, the experiment of merging different networks, and the experiment of showing Ad Hoc network topology with graphics. Then it summarizes the experiment results.Based on the embedded test-bed, with the Ad Hoc performance tests and the tests of these experiments, they indicate that it is feasible to implement the Ad Hoc to practical application, which has a great reference value for future work.
