The digital recorder is used to record the data stream or signal generated in the processof system operation, system testing or real-time scientific experiments, to record data forsubsequent analysis and research, and widely used in military, industrial, aviation, aerospace,security and other fields. According to different application requirements, the digital recorderis also divided into many categories, our laboratory focused on the research of vesselcontained, vehicle contained and ground stations digital recorder. According to the shootingrange and the requirements of the task trials, this article puts forward the PowerPC-basedportable recorder research and development, which main features are portable andminiaturization, you can achieve a sustained200MB/s RAID0data recording rate, andreaches for110MB/s data recording speed when RAID5, the maximum recording capacity is2TB.The research work is about the design of portable recorder base on PowerPC. The wholesystem is divided into five parts whitch are the PowerPC embedded Linux platform, the dataacquisition module, the PCI Express bus interface module, data storage module and ARMcontrol module, for each part, taking an overview of the advantages of embedded Linuxoperating system, IRIG106digital recording standard, protocol features and advantages of thePCI Express bus, RAID technology, respectively.In this paper, the focus can be summarized into two parts: the PCI Express bus interfacedesign and recorder application software design. PCI Express bus interface provides a busconnection for data acquisition module, data storage module and PowerPC embedded Linuxplatform, organically combines of the system hardware, the recorder application softwaredesign is used specifically to dominate and control the entiresystem hardware. The formerresearch is about the PCI Express bus interface and the bottom-level of the PCI Express busLinux driver development; the latter study includes the the recorder top-level applicationdesign and the Qt graphical user interface control development.Finally, pointing out thesystem testing porcess and performance analysis.
