| Security VPN gateway has been widely deployed in enterprises and organizations. High security, high reliability, excellent performance and low cost will help you to win the competition. In this paper the VPN technique is briefly described, schemes of PowerPC-based hardware platform and embedded Linux-based OS platform presented. The author focuses on the design of MPC855T-based hardware platform and Linux-ppc-2.4.4-based software platform. The hardware modules of cipher algorithm are also discussed. And finally a VPN gateway application is introduced.
