In recent years, along with the reform and open policy and the economical high speed development, the living standards large scale enhancement, the automobile became in more and more people daily life one of essential most commonly used transportation vehicles, the automobile expended gradually already became popular the consumer behavior. But the automobile quantity's sharp increase has also brought the environment, the energy and so on a series of questions, specially gave the traffic control during convenience transportation's to bring the huge pressure. Meanwhile, the city and countryside path's construction cannot satisfy the automobile quantity to increase will bring the traffic congestion and the jamming and so on a series of questions, already serious influence resident's journey. How to realize each kind of vehicles' effective direction, coordinated, to manage and safeguards its security to become an important question which the transportation and the Safety and security department face.This thesis analyzes the Problems of vehicle-management at present. It gives avalid design method which is based ARM7 microprocessor and combines the GPS (Global Positioning System) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) in the newly product. It provides a new and efficient controlling and managing way for the transport in the modern cities.The vehicle terminal obtains the Positioning data from GPS module, extracts some useful messages that we need, displays them on the screen and sends out by GPRS module. The vehicle management-department receives the messages by networks, and then adopts some tactics to maintain the traffic order.The design includes two parts: hardware and software. The hardware design is comprised of ARM, memory, SDRAM, GPS module circuit and GPRS module circuit while the software design uses the PPP cript to complete the GPRS module the digit dialing, utilizes multi-threads for extracting GPS Info and sending GPRS messages. Between the hardware and software is embedded Linux system, it includes Bootloader, kernel, file-system and so on.At the end, the thesis summaries the completed works, and gives the methods for further improvement.
