Access management&monitoring systems have been widely used in factory automation, safety&security areas, logistics management and so on benefiting from their advantages in security protection and personnel management. Besides, with the development of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology and the embedded system technology, the access management&monitoring system’s capability of security will be vitally improved if combined with these two technologies.Since different application scenarios lead to different demands on softwares, access management&monitoring system is always designed specifically according to different application scenarios to meet different functional demonds better. In this paper, we uses the paper examination palces of the College Entrance Exams (CEE) as the specific application scenarios to design and implement an access management&monitoring system based on embedded Linux, along with the RFID technology, embedded system technology and necessary access management&monitoring devices. In this project, IC cards will be the unique identification of person examining papers and this guarantees a high safety and hard to fake level. The embedded system runs online using the TCP/IP protocol and the embedded Linux operating system guarantees a safe, stable and low-power consumption performace. The use of the SQLite embedded database guarantees low resource consumption and unified standard of programming interfaces. The application of JPEG hardware decoding, DMA technology and FrameBuffer technology guarantees high efficient JPEG decoding and displaying. Qt/Embedded is used to compose the GUI and this contributes to improving the system architecture. The J2EE technology is used in the server end and the PostgreSQL is used as its database and this makes the server end running efficiently and platform independently. The HTTP protocol is used as the communication protocol between the server and the embedded system for data synchronization and the transfered data is organized in the form of JSON which guarantees a unified and standard format of data synchronization.
