Rapid design has been proposed and developed owing to the demand of products diversity and rapid update, and it refers to all the design techniques and methods in aid of shortening the cycle of product development. Rapid design involves all kinds of advanced design technology, for example: modularization, parameterization, the design tool based on CAD and so on.On the basis of fundamental method of rapid design, the Glassware Pressmachine's rapid design method is put forward in this paper, which simulation techniques with modularization and parameterization in Pro/E platforms.Firstly, through Glassware Pressmachine run process analysis and their parts and components required for the development issues of concern, determined operation processes of Glassware Pressmachine expert system and the models Glassware Pressmachine.Secondly, through on the basis of the analysis of structure design and operation process of hinged type three-opening mould mechanism using modular technology, established links and restraint relations among the modules; using modeling means of the combination of top-down and bottom-up, And through analysis of the performance and the main parameters of hinged type three-opening mould mechanism's body parts, established its digital model. In addition using Microsoft Access 2003 to establish the database of models and parameters of Glassware Pressmachine, assembly and main components of hinged type three-opening mould mechanism and so on.Then through the use of Pro/E, Pro/Toolkit function and VC + +6.0 developing the corresponding control procedures, established the overall interface of Glassware Pressmachine and the rapid design system of hinged type three-opening mould mechanism. The expert system can be quickly generated product based on user requirements.Finally, using simulation technology to implementation of mechanics analysis test to hinged type three-opening mould mechanism which the rapid design system generates, if compliance with the simulation results indicate that the actual needs of the design is successful, otherwise it would need to analyze the reasons for their failure to seek suitable design.
