The rollers of continuous casting machine in the right opening and location are not only increased the rate of operation, but also largely determine the quality of the slab surface. In order to prevent the emergence of the slab bulging or cracking, or even the straightening machine skidding or other serious happening, the rollers' opening and location must be detected and adjusted timely and reliably. So continuous casting machine must be equipped with reliable performance, full-featured roll gap detecting system. This subject is that of research and development of multi-seam roll gap detecting system.In this paper, according to the environment of the roll gap detecting system running and the characteristics of various design parameters, the roll gap detecting machine has been designed. The working contains that the detection program of various parameters has been designed, the kind and type of sensor, CPU chips, data-stored and data-sent chips has been selected and the interface circuit between the chips has been designed. A set of data-processing software of roll gap detecting system on PC has been designed with object-oriented design methods, using of the environment of Visual C++ and database of Microsoft Access and features of industrial control software. The structure of the software and the corresponding code has been make. So now the data-processing software has user log in and management function, default input function, control and graphics function, test results show function and the history results show function.This paper isn't only providing practical programs of roll gap detecting machine development in the process of a real industry, but also to be a useful reference for the software development based on Visual C++.
