A number of geographically dispersed sub-systems are contained in the alloy semi-continuous casting production system, thus it is objectively needed to build a distributed network system, so that the integration of management and control in the process of production can be realized. The content of the paper is the monitoring network system in the production process of aluminum alloy semi-continuous casting.Firstly the technology of alloy semi-continuous casting and the design requirement of the monitoring network system are proposed in the paper, then the general scheme are given, which mainly includes the selection and analysis of fieldbus, the Industrial Ethernet-based remote monitoring system and the CANopen-based real-time monitoring system.Through the analyses of the forming principle of compound magnetic field and the functional mechanism of electromagnetic in aluminum alloy semi-continuous casting, the control requirements of the composite magnetic field are gained, and in order to match the requirements, the AC-AC cycloconverter is adopted in the main circuit of control system. The modular design thinking is adopted in the hardware design, which use TMS320F2809 as the control core, and focuse on the analog-input processing module, man-machine interface and communication modules and etc. In the software design, the program design of eCAN controller and the realization of CANopen application layer protocol are emphatically researched, so as to achieve the communication with the host monitoring computer.The experimental results show that the monitoring system achieves good results, the functions of display the scene casting power system parameters and settings, historical records, reports and printing are realized, and through the touch-screen the three-phase power inverter and the auxiliary power supply are centralized managed and monitored.Finally, this paper makes some conclusions, and presents some issues for future research.
