The Development And Productive Practice Of Crude Zinc Flow Control System In Shaoguan Smelter

In zinc refinery of Shaoguan Smelter,liquid crued zinc's flowing from melting bath into lead column is an important parameter.If the flowing is not stable,it will influence on the output and quality of pure zinc.And it also directly influences on the life span of zinc refining column.If the rate of flow is too large,the heat won't be enough and the temperature will difficultly approach to the boiling point of zinc,zinc won't evaporate,so distillation won't work.If it is too small,the heat will be to much and the temperature will be too high surpassing the boiling point,the refining column will probably be destroyed by fire and less volatile impurities will probably evaporate,the puritity of zinc will be influenced and the vapour zinc sometimes will pour out from the top of column. So,it will bring large benefit to the enterprise to control the rate of flow between reasonable limits.Up to now there is no such an equipment in our country to detect the flowing rate of liquid zinc because of high temperature and corrosiveness of zinc.Basing on the zinc refining technology,this paper puts forward a detecting way—weighing.The weight of liquid zinc is it's parameter.Basing on the fluid mechanics on hole and the mathematics model between weight and rate of flow,this equipment can detect the flowing rate of liquid zinc indirectly.The problem that the flowing rate of liquid zinc is difficult to be detected is solved.Basing on the former controlling,the paper shows the construction and principle of the flow controlling and how the process is fulfilled.The given value of flowing rate is inputted from computer according to the demand.PLC controls the electric motor to adjust the seam between The SiC bar and the cup of controller for feeding zinc according to the given value.At the same time,this paper has designed a series of detecting,controlling and managing software to detect the data of producing spot and to manage the workers with VC.The running result shows that this controlling system is very reliable.It has solved the problem that the former can't overcome.It has raised producing level of pure zinc of Shaoguan Smelter.And it has brought large benefit to the enterprise.
