TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) is mainly applied to real-time monitor cars'tire pressure and temperature automatily when vehicle is traveling. It adoptes wireless transmitters to receive the transmitting information and alarms the flat tire and low pressure to insure its safety. It is the safety assurance warning systems of the driver and traveler. TPMS is a new generation of automotive safety equipment in the international arena after safety air bag and ABS braking system. TPMS has become a new study in automotive electronics industry. The subject of this article is to design an embedded platform, and on this basis I further explore the application software designing methods. Firstly, I adopt a typical multi-tasking real-time embedded operating systemμC/OS-II, and then analyse its kernel structure and kernel realized methods in details. Secondly, according to the requirement forμC/OS-II transplant, I finish transplanting theμC/OS-II operating system on a hardware platform with PHILIPS Company's 32-bit ARM processor LPC2131 as its core. And finally, I introduce configuration methords and debugging for the development environment in details. The process of designing the central receiver module mainly includes 4 steps: 1) Learning the development, status and trends of the TPMS; 2) Through analyzing and comparing the advantages of TMPS's traditional structure, I improve the structure of the central receiver module; 3) Finishing the principle, structure, various components of hardware and software components design process on TPMS system host module and selecting device of pin configuration etc; 4) Determining the basic system testing methods and testing process, analyzing test results, and reaching to the conclusions of research and design. The system is the theoretical foundation which is set up on the basis of many experimental data and references. It finishes TPMS's overall structure and software design based on operating system requirement analysis, and finally passes the initial software testing. We also analyze its errors and the range of application and verify the superiority of embedded system platform based on ARM+μC/OS-II in the application.
