The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system is an automatic computer system which controls and adjusts industrial processes. With the rapid development of industry automatic technology and wireless communication technology, industrial enterprise has higher expectation for the reliability, real-time performance and flexibility of the SCADA system. In response to these requests, this paper introduces the GPRS network to the actual data acquisition system.This paper expatiates on the composition and structure of the GPRS system, analyses the principles and characteristics of the GPRS data transmission mode, researches into the structure of the data transport protocols, and designs a technical programme which is using GPRS to remote data transmission. The remote data transmission system which based on GPRS technology is mainly consists of the data center and data transmission terminals. The data center and data transmission terminals are connected with each other via Internet and GPRS network. The data center uses a PC which is connected to the Internet with a fixed IP address, and the data transmission terminals are connected to GR64 module by serial port with microprocessor (MSP430F149) as the core.This paper expatiates on the wireless module GR64 and microchip MSP430F149 MCU with peripheral circuit and the data center software and the data collection terminal software in detail. This paper summarizes the problems during the system design and put forward the solution to these probletns. Built the experiment platform of GPRS wireless data transmission in laboratory,described the specific experimental step, through the experiments, the data reliability and safety during transmission are verified.Relying on the China mobile communication network, the system need not to construct network, it is easy for latter maintenance and network user migration and increasing,data transmission charges according to the flow, which reduce cost to a large extent.This study can be used for hydrological forecasting system, can also be used in coal mine gas monitoring, water pollution case detection, remote meter reading, and so on. So it has wide application potential.
