As the Chinese-owned intellectual property of TD-SCDMA standard is getting sophisticated, TD-SCDMA technologies and related products are also getting improved and better, the TD-SCDMA industry is growing up more quickly, Pre-commercial networks have been deployed, and commercial networks are being deployed in whole China step by step. The system test, networks planning and optimizing, compatible for new technologies, all these things need an analyzer supporting TD-SCDMA (TDPA) to provide reliable operating data. This paper focuses on this topic, studying the protocol analysis and calling trace of protocol analyzer, designing and implementing it.The objective of this paper is to design a convenient diagnostic tool~TD-SCDMA protocol analyzer (TDPA), which helps to increase the stability, better performance and functionality, this is done through monitoring the data of interfaces between system and parsing the data according to related protocols. It is designed to verify and analyze the functions of TD-SCDMA system, to forecast and locate potential action and mistakes, help to optimizing the performance. At the same time, it can support the evolution of the standard, such as HSDPA, MBMS, HSUPA and IPRAN. The TDPA was designed to have most advantages of similar analyzers, based on the characteristics of TD-SCDMA, to provide a creative solution, it has been verified in practice. This analyzer saved lots of money for the system, and it also provides an more open, flexible, quick interface for the later development of networks optimization tools for Datang Mobile. The TDPA has been used in the deployment of TD-SCDMA networks in testing and verification, and it will also greatly help the networks planning and optimization.
