Circular Knitting Machine is an important kind of Knitting Machine,which has a high degree of automation and mainly for cylindrical weft of woven fabric. At present, the domestic market for high-end of Circular Knitting Machine fundamental dependence on imports, the country needs lots of foreign exchange to buy Circular Knitting Machine system. Therefore, to develop our own intellectual property rights of high-end Circular Knitting Machine, efforts to improve the level of domestic knitting equipment manufacturers and application of standards is of great significance.This paper is on the basis of a detailed analysis of Circular Knitting Machine structure and function, combines with the demands of Circular Knitting Machine knitting handcraft, designs a Circular Knitting Machine control system which is based on the WinCE platform. The control system introduces the principle of hierarchical control, and divide the system into three levels:supervision level, main level and bottom control level. The supervision level mainly for the realization of human-computer interaction function, using 32-bit ARM processor, including LCD, Touch Screen, USB interface, and other resources. The file of patterns or movement moves through the USB interface input, after application software dealing with a certain algorithms, transmits through the bus to the main level.The main level makes up of STC's MCU and Altera's CPLD, deals with a variety of input and output signals, receives data of the supervision level, and transmitted through the CAN bus to the bottom control level. The bottom control level receives data from the main level, to control the Circular Knitting Machine's actuator,makes every needle selector, valve, stepping motor etc. on the Circular Knitting Machine in accordance with the requirements of the work of weaving technology.Throughout the control system design and achievement of the process, The main concrete made on the following aspects:1. Based on embedded operating system, with the platform of WinCE operating system, customizes WinCE core according to the system requirements, and transplants to the target board. At the same time it is based on WinCE interrupt handling mechanism, according to the control system requirements, finishes interrupt handing, including interrupt handler's programming and debugging etc.2. Completed main level's signal processing circuit and the bottom control level's executive body of the driver control circuit design and PCB production,and finished the various feature module debugging.3. Completed the CPLD module programming, CPLD procedures played a decisive role in the whole system. According to the CAN bus communication mechanism, Completed the CAN communication programming design. 4. Designed a application software which realized human-computer interaction function , the software has a friendly user interface, easy operation and so on.5. The whole control system had been widely test, such as test the bus of reading and writing, CAN Communications test,and power off protection test etc,and the test results were analyzed for the system to provide a basis for further improvement.Compared with the development of industrial computer-based control system in past, Control system based on WinCE plateform has high degree of integration, performance, stability, and other advantages. The application programming which realized the system's function is designed under Windows environment ,therefore also has a user-friendly, easy to operate, and other characteristics, which have a high market competitiveness. Development and application of The Circular Knitting Machine control system based on WinCE platform will further enhance our knitting equipment manufacturing technology and have a greater level of economic and social benefits.
