With the rapid development of communication, embedded computing and sensortechnology, WSN(Wireless Sensor Networks) is gained people's great attention. Wirelessmain task is to detect the environment. Multi-hop and Several-for-one communicationpattern often lead to happening congestion near base station.During the past the past few years, researchers has suggested a lot of congestioncontrol algorithms of WSN. These algorithms have an effect to improve quality oftransmission quality in WSN. But it is not be involved that the important packets need totransfer in time. Time is a very important constraint in wireless sensor networks Ifhigh-value events is be delayed, the actual application will be brought about seriousconsequences. Based on the above characteristic, it is important to efficiently, fairness,power-efficiented to gather the highly value data to sink or base-station.So, this paper propose CCBVP(a congestion and rate control scheme based onremainder value policy). CCBVP is based on directed diffusion. It is divided into fourparts. (Ⅰ)Propose benchmark price, datum price embodies the event on the real-timerequirements of the degree of importance. And propose that their value reduce gradually, with the network transfers time's increasing. And pricing change rule. (Ⅱ)Detectcongestion and congested node to feedback congestion notification massage hop-by-hosp. When Congestion occurs, lowest value packets are dropped. (Ⅲ)Sink sent rateadjusting message based on value reliability when congestion disappear. It avoidsrecurring congestion and loss of Energy. (Ⅳ)All the nodes adjust rate by residual price. Itensures high-value packets in a timely and reliable transmission. This paper presents aCCBVP algorithm and its concrete realization.Because standards of traditional network performance reflect only transmissionstatus of the overall network packet. They do not Measure the high-value packettransmission performance. So, this paper also proposes three measures to evaluate theperformance of sensor networks under congestion: network value efficiency, valuethroughput, value loss rate. The standard reflects the real-time transmission of networkperformance. We compare the performance of the CODA in wireless sensor networks using theNS2 simulator. The result of experiment shows that this new algorithm improves networkvalue efficiency and value throughput and reduce value loss rate.
