Circulator is widely used in radio transceivers as one kind of important microwave ferrite devices. The traditional circulator are mostly strip circulator. With the development of circulator, its direction are gradually to the compact, small size, low cost., a high degree of integration, it has been replaced by the micro-strip circulator are widely used in microwave system. In this thesis, the principle and design method of micro-strip are come from the theory of the microwave transmit in the strip circulator, further with the micro-strip circulator its owe characteristics, we design and improve the flow of it.In theory on the basis of analysis. With the computer-aided design optimization software Matlab, we optimize the design parameters to the 3-port Y junction micro-strip circulator, combine with the Matlab GUI programming, we compile the design parameters software apply to 1-15GHz band micro-strip circulator, using the optimization results we design the micro-strip circulator that work center frequency is 5GHz, band is 4~6GHz. In the production process, we innovative use of Laser writing Thick-film depicts to produce micro-strip thick-film circuit, Through the process of analysis and parametric technology research, finally we find the best technical parameters for it. The micro-strip circulator was measured using Agilent network analyzer, The measurement results showed a good coherence to the simulation ones and got the design targets with lower 5dB insertion loss, 15dB isolation in the frequency range of 4.6~5.4GHz, further confirmed the accuracy of the optimal design.
