With the increasing development of Internet, IP technology will become the leading technology in information and telecommunication field. VoIP(Voice over IP) system carry telephony speech as digital audio, typically reduced in data rate using speech data compression techniques, packetized in small units of typically tens of milliseconds of speech, and encapsulated in a packet stream over IP. It can be a benefit for reducing communication and infrastructure costs by routing phone calls over existing data networks and avoiding duplicate network systems, and can facilitate tasks and provide services such as unified messaging service, conference calling, call forwarding, automatic redial, call routing and message or data file exchange.Especially in enterprise network, VoIP has extraordinary application. Currently PBXs (Private Branch eXchange) are mainly deployed in enterprise telecom network. Telephone charge is a considerable part of payment for a company with big telecommunication traffic volume. It has taken over traditional PBX in particularly conspicuous trend. However, in a fairly long period of time, VoIP can not provide high reliability and high stability telecommunication service based on circuit-switched PBX. How to achieve the circuit-switched technology and the integration of VoIP technology becomes the focus of attention of a wide variety of telecommunications equipment manufacturers.The subject of this paper is development of VoIP gateway / VoIP processing module based on the existing PBX system to achieve the traditional PBX and VoIP technology integration.This thesis introduces the system design for VoIP process module, as well as its hardware and software implementation solution. In order to ensure the high performance and solid reliability, the solution with MPC860 embedded processor and AudioCodec voice DSP as hardware platform, combined Vxworks embedded operation system, is adopted.Firstly we introduce the key technology of this project, such as embedded system architecture, VoIP call signaling protocol H.323 system and voice digital signal processing in IP telephony. Then it gives a particular description on the embedded system solution for VoIP module based on MPC860 processor and VoIP voice DSP as its hardware platform, and software designs on VxWorks realtime operating system.We mainly introduce the system design solution, hardware architecture, especially on external/internal bus interface, clock and power management, EPLD, interrupt solution etc. Finally we mainly introduce the BSP and driver designs on VoIP hardware related devices, and give a brief description on system application software design and implementation on H.323 protocol call process.At the end of the thesis, we prospect the application foreground of this system.
