With the development of technic of computer, the reserch of embedded system has been paid more attention to. And computer can be divided into embedded computer and non-embedded computer. Because of the advantage, samll, low power-consuming, low cost, fast processing and more, embedded computer system is applied to every field and the number is larger than and non-embedded computer system. The peripheral equipment of a computer includes five to ten embedded processors. Embedded processors dorminate the keyboard, mouse, disk driver, hard disk, display, network card, Modem, sound card, printer, scanner, digital camera and USB hub, etc. In the fields of control, communication, instrument, automobile, shipping, aeronautics, military, and consumable, embedded computer is a master.The article expatiates the performance of MPC860T and design a platform based on it, which can be applied to encyption machine and other communication device. At present, the most of net encryption machine is base on the workman plat, which make volume large and processor perform slow speed. This platform bases on the embedded processor and operation system that make the encyption machine and or cmmunication device can be transplanted smoothly onto the plat. DSP or FPGA can be applied at the plat as a co-processor to process the encryption algorithm in terms of different speed demand. Since the PowerPC which has the strong ability to support the communication protocol and the non-insert sort of instruments are chosen, the system plat have the strongpoints of small volume and stable perform. The whole encryption machine has the large competition.
