Smartphone, there're more Multimedia applications in Smartphone than in traditional cellphone. It supplies not only basic fuction such as voice communication, but also other fuctions including PDA, MP3 player, digital camera and video, video player and game. As 2.5G/3G mobile communication network come into operation, smartphone which support data and voice service will become a mainstream product in china cellphone market soon. Smartphone is the trend of cellphone development in the future.In this dissertation, a hardware design of smartphone is proposed as well as designed. All hardware module design of smartphone is be described. It put emphases on the design of power management module and audio module. It advanced some problem in the design of power management module and audio module then give out solution for it. It can be verified on an Embedded Application System Base on ARM OMAP730. An electronic product which can be accepted by market is designed finally.In chapter 1, a comprehensive description about the significance of the research work is given and the structure of this paper is also given. The current research status of embedded system, smartphone is also described.In chapter 2, a description about all hardware module design of smartphone, including core baseband IC OMAP730, memory module etc will be discussed in detailed and the design flow of intelligence mobile system and the principle of design will be discussed in detailed.In chapter 3, a description about power management module of smartphone will be discussed in detailed, including all power function module solution and the test result on OMAP730.In chapter 4, a description about audio module of smartphone will be discussed in detailed, including all kinds of audio problem solution and the test result on OMAP730.In chapter 5, the main research conclusion is summarized. The prospect of further research work is also proposed.
