Lean Production System is well known as an optimal system approach, which emphasizes on eliminating activities of wasting resource during the value-creating period. Within this System, Just-in-Time and Jidoka are the two core concepts; meanwhile, the Pull Production Model provides the technology support to realize Just-in-Time in operations.This article is to discuss how to effectively apply the Pull Production Model into the process of Panel Assembling, which is the back-end of three processes in the TFT-LCD production. Basing on the well-known MES and OIC systems, I would like to introduce the experience of creating an apparent operations management platform of Pull Production Model, via the electronic pull-production display borad, Delay WIP display borad, and productivity monitoring display borad. The whole approach would help reduce the production cycle, deduct in-process products, improve product quality, raise productivity, reduce operating cost, and meet customer needs. Moreover, in order to ensure the Pull Production Model be implemented properly, I considers by-hour management, message management, subject management and other methods.Along with the implementation of Pull Production Model, it is approved that the work-in-process, product quality, operations efficiency and so on have been made good progress in the panel assembling process of TFT-LCD. |
