Mobile communication developed rapidly in current telecom industry area. The second generation(2G) mobile communication based on the voice services achieved great success on the whole history of telecommunication, however the third generation(3G) and beyond third generation(B3G) in mobile communication aiming for wideband,multimedia services and global seamless roaming is driving a bigger communication revolution. Although 3G technology shows strong advantages on the performance, the problems 3G facing are multi-mode and compatibility with 2G. For 3G, how to effectively utilize extant 2G network, how to be compatible with its own different kinds of systems and how to transit backward smoothly have been the focus of attention.Now, for the compatibility problem during the different wireless communication systems, it is more effective way to use software defined radio(SDR) technology to resolve by building a platform with compatibility and reconfigurability. However, the existing SDR platforms all have many problems to different degrees, such as poor multi-mode compatibility,low system software degree and insufficient reconfigurability. So, it is meaningfulness to study an unified platform of new generation wireless communications which could be compatible with 2G and 3G multi-mode based on the latest SDR technology.In the study of an unified platform of new generation multi-mode wireless communications, it is the key link to design and realize communication waveform component library based on software communications architecture(SCA). SCA is a SDR standard to define the architecture of wireless communication systems in different levels. SCA provides framework specifications for design and realization of SDR system, and makes SDR system have higher reconfigurability and transportability.Now, in the SCA standard, it has no precedent to design and realize waveform components being adequate for multi-mobile communication systems. The waveform components could provide support for the compatibility of the unified platform of new generation multi-mode wireless communications.The thesis was supported by National 863 project, studied waveform components library with transportability and reconfigurability and finished design and realization of waveform components of typical mobile communication systems based on SCA framework specifications. In allusion to the main demands of multi-system wireless communication, we proposed to use modularized waveform components to set up waveform components library, and reused the existing waveform components to the maximum in the development of new waveform components. Then, the cost and risk of development could be reduced, and probability could be provided for realizing multi-system wireless communication on the new generation platform.
