Uses standard software component idea, the SCA(Software Communication Architecture) supports efficient reusability of the wireless communication systems, lower development cost , a shorter cycle of the validation and implementation of a new technique. Originally utilized in military field, the SCA has started to gain in popularity within the public field and the commercial community as well.Based on the requirements of the project"SCA-based Software Radio Platform", the paper first studies the Software Communications Architecture(SCA) specification,especially discusses the ideas of the SCA waveform modeling. As a result, SCA-based OFDM waveform application is designed and implemented. One characteristic of the paper is that the idea of information system modeling is used throughout the waveform development: first in the requirement analysis phase, the UseCase diagram is used to model the logical system; and then in the design phase, the detail model of the waveform is formed by combining the OFDM and the SCA specification; finally in the implementation phase, with language mapping mechanism, the platform independent system is translated into specific platform and language dependent program frame, and thus the OFDM waveform is formed under the Windows/VxWorks system. The implement process has demonstrated the reusability and transplantation of SCA design idea.
