The logistics industry which is regarded as the third source of profits shows accelerated development trend in nowadays. The targets of modem logistics are. to lower its costs and to increase its efficiency. The rationality of logistics process and the logistics flow speed is the key to achieve these targets. It is necessary to analyze all the logistics links as a whole. Today the great development of information technology supplies powerful supports for logistics include logistic information flow and logistic optimization. The slotting optimization problem (SOP), as a research branch of warehouse management in logistics, offers guidance for goods stocking and issues which could improve the running efficiency and reduce the labor cost in warehouse. The study of SOP has values not only in academic but also application.This thesis studied the slotting optimization system base on a careful analyze of the warehouse which is belong to a big automobile manufacturing company in this country. This thesis is arranged as following: 1st it compared and summarizes the current research achievements; 2nd it sifts the influencing factors out to build a common evaluation criterion of the warehouse operational efficiency base on the real warehouse conditions. In order to make this evaluation criteria become more objective, it takes the goods stocking and issues process in a whole consideration, and import the influencing factors like the warehouse, the materials and the conveyance; 3rd it build the slotting optimization model for this warehouse; 4th use distribute particle swarm optimization (DPSO) arithmetic to solve the optimization model, and decided the best arithmetic arguments for this model by emulator; 5th defined a intact assigned strategy for the warehouse storage plan; 6th designed the database and programmed process for the slotting optimization system; 7th use a instance to verify this system.
