The traditional warehouse management still stored goods according to their accustomed experience,resulting in a waste in storage space and a decline in work efficiency,so the concept of warehouse slotting optimization was proposed.The warehouse slotting optimization is a potential method for increasing the utilization of warehouse space and work efficiency,and also is the inevitable trend in the domain of warehouse management.As the main task of thesis,we analyzed Warehouse Management System(WMS) developed by Shanghai Quantum Software Scientific & Technical Corporation,and determined warehouse slotting optimization model after learning from the research of warehouse slotting optimization at home and abroad.Firstly,we analyzed the model and found a suitable algorithm to solve the model.Secondly,we simulated and analyzed the data which came from model solving to verify the correctness of algorithm.The first step is setting up optimization model.We studied warehouse's relevant theory and genetic algorithm's relevant knowledge,and analyzed the WMS developed by Quantum Corporation.After that,we built the mathematical model using genetic algorithm after theory study and WMS analysis.The next step is solving the model using genetic algorithm.Through analyzing the model,we found that warehouse slotting optimization is actually a multipurpose problem.In regard to warehouse management,different administrator focused on different target.Therefore,we should convert the problem from multipurpose problem into simple one by changing weight coefficient before utilizing genetic algorithm to find solution,and then made use of genetic algorithm.In this way,the warehouse administrator can optimize warehouse slotting by setting up various weights according to practical condition in warehouse.In order to verify the correctness of algorithm,we simulated and analyzed the data by the tool MATLAB.By setting up different weights,we converted the pre-optimized data and the post-optimized data into a 3D graphics,and verified the practicality of algorithm through a comparative analysis which achieved satisfactory results.
