With the rapid development of modern industry, the traditional storage methods can not meet the needs of production and circulation, but automated warehouse has been applied more and more widely. However, the current management of warehousing still follows the habit and experience of many years ago to storage goods. It does not only waste storage space, but also degrades working efficiency of warehouse; slotting optimization has emerged under this background. In the face of thousands of ware location and cargo space, Warehouse Slotting Optimization has become the key factor to improve storage access efficiency and lower the warehouse cost.This dissertation take stereoscopic warehouse of warehousing center A as the research object, combining with domestic and international research results of warehouse Slotting Optimization, and anglicizing of the main problems and current situation of the company to optimize the storage location. Based on the GA optimization function in MATLAB toolbox, a simple-programming and fast-running general method has been achieved. Meanwhile, it is simulated to obtain a better optimized result using 3D model in the MATLAB environment. In the factual process, the algorithm is succinct and converged fast, which will conquer the problems that the calculating time increased in progression in large-scale warehouse. Through this way, it can provide a new idea for Slotting Optimization in modern storage center. In addition to this, a simple-operated, fast-running, practical and feasible solution is summarized in the slotting optimizing process.The dissertation has made following contributions:Firstly, it has analyzed the research background and significance of storage system, and detail introduced the research object including stereoscopic warehouse, slotting optimization and related theory. Those theories have formed the foundation of establishing the mathematical model for slotting optimization.Secondly, combining with the circumstances of stereoscopic warehouse in the third-party logistics company A, it has extracted the key information in the storage management information system. Then we get the multi-objective optimization mathematical model for Slotting optimization to enhance the warehouse goods turnover rate and improve the whole stability.Thirdly, after the analysis of mathematical model, in order to solve the problems the general method is compared. Using random weigh method, multi-objective genetic algorithm is also designed for solving the problems.Fourthly, through the detailed example, the numerical example is coded. The adaptive function and its operator are defined as well. Based on genetic algorithm, MATLAB toolbox is used for slotting optimization and its simulation. Then make analysis of the optimized results and prove them to be practical.Fifthly, it has made a conclusion for the whole thesis and explored the future research work about genetic algorithm when it applied in the multi-objective optimization of logistics system.
