The design and application of PLC control system on drilling rig according to the need of drilling production is to apply automatic control technology to electric control system of drilling rig. It realizes combining modern technology with drilling production and applying to it. As PLC control technology matures, it is used in drilling rig electric control system to realize controlling drilling rig drawworks, rotary table, mud pump and automatic drilling system to meet the need of drilling technics, to provide excellent technology for drilling technics, to make drilling rig technology raise to a new level.In this article, electric power driving ways and electric control ways using in civil and overseas drilling rig motors are analyzed and researched. It mainly sets forth PLC control ways of draw works motor, rotary table motor, mud pump motor and automatic drilling motor in frequency conversion drilling rig control system. Through analyzing the motor starting flow, working flow, the motor control theory, optional regrouping the PLC module, drawing function diagram, editing instruction program, installing and adjusting PLC control system, applying PROFIBUS and multifunctional touching screen and repeated debugging, the working capability of the control system meets the need of drilling technics. A set of reliable advanced PLC control technique on drilling rigs is formed. It makes drilling equipments meet the need of drilling in steady pressure and steady speed. Its complete protecting function provides powerful guarantee for high difficulty drilling and realizes intelligence drilling.
