With the rapid development of the national economy, the development and utilization of mineral resources becomes an important pillar of social and economic expansion. Drilling and production operations as a part of mine have a very important influence on the production efficiency, production costs and production safety. The development of rotary drill, which is the major mine drilling equipment of the open pit mine especially the large-scale, for automation, intelligent has great significance. This paper basing on real needs and complying with the future development, proposes the issue of hydraulic rotary drill control system for intelligent drilling, which has advanced and practical significance.Basing on the process of rock drilling rig stress and motion analysis, various failure mechanism was explained and classified, which provides theoretical basis for the intelligent controlling hydraulic systems to identify and manage. The system was designed for controlling drill rotation speed and torque, axial pressure , drilling speed and the amount of slagging to realize drilling systems intelligent Controlling. Proposing drilling system's modular design, under the guidance of this thinking, the controlling system divides into communication module, controlling module and fault diagnosis module, which greatly reduces the design difficulty. CANBUS technology was used to achieve the communication between the host controller and other modules, reserving the space of function for future expansion.The synthetically study presented above established an intelligent Control system. The Modularly designed makes it applied in Rotary drill with integrated mechanic, electric and hydraulic significance. What's more, it improved the efficiency of the whole system and practical engineering-oriented value.
