The Research And Implementation Of Network Modeling And Management Technology Based On XML

With the expanding of the computer networks scope and the growing of the structure complexity, the problem of the equipment diversification has been more outstanding. Simple data collection has been unable to meet the actual operating requirements. The traditional management of equipment-oriented gradually transforms to user-oriented management. The simplex data collection changes to the flexible and diverse management services. With its flexible information expression, facilitate expansion mechanisms and easy-to-use grammar format, XML-based network management technology has added the new vigor in the traditional network management technology.On the basis of the comprehensive analysis in the traditional network management technology and XML main mechanism, a thought in the network management logic and managed devices separation is used, and a set of network management system development methods based on XML information model is put forward. Using XML technology the managed object of the network is modeled. Based on data model the network management system is developed. The problem that in the traditional SNMP data modeling MIB can't describe the complex data types is solved. The network management system based on XML network model eliminates the excessive reliance between the management logic and the data model. When the the managed object changes, the network model is adjusted only without the need to modify all the control logic. The adaptability and scalability of the network management system is enhanced.In this paper, connecting the practical project application a set of network management system prototype based on XML is designed and achieved. In the real network environment the validity of the prototype system is verified. This provides a reference for the research of the XML technology applying in the network management.
