Of course the majority nationality is Han, in possession of the population of one billion one hundred and fifty-nine million four hundred thousand,by ninety-one point five nine percent of the whole population. And the other fifty-five minorities possess one hundred and six million four hundred and thirty thousand people, by eight point four one percent of the whole population.In the long period, Han nationality and the minorities complement ,help and supply one another's needs. They together make up of today's solidaritied, developmental, flourishing, progressing and united multi-nationality country.Chinese minorities form the characteristics of various minorities'languages,blurred relative edge relation and unbalanced development for the effect of so much many factors of societies,histories,dwelled sections and the population amounts.Accordingly, it is the social background that our item advances to develop the minorities'language information management degree,to improve the minorities'language informationization management technique, to make it serve the cultural education and economic construction of the minorities'regions.The operational system's localization and ethical characteristics are the foundation of composing the minorities'language informationization system. And the current mainstream operational systems such as Windows,Linux hardly hold out the minorities'languages. So the objective of this project is Mongolian phonetic input method based on the Unicode on Linux.The key technique and main innovative aspects of the study on the project have such characteristics following.1. It realizes the function of Cross-platform Mongolian phonetic input method based on Unicode.Only the Vista operational systems holds out a few of the minorities'languages such as the Tibetian and the Mongolian. Most of the Mongolian input methods opened up based on the XP system before adopted the outer input manner. And they cannot hold out the keyboard input of the Mongolian Unicode chacters.2. The Mongolian input method of the Vista is Unicode Input method which needs users to input the controlled characters. The topic solves the issue of changing the Mongolian nominal chacters into glyphs on Windows Vista which needs the users themselves to input the Unicode controlled characters.3. It makes up the actuality which can not hold out the Mongolian input method on the desktop system GNOME of the Linux.One of the Linux desktop system KDE changed by Chinese Scientific Rearch Institute now can hold out some minorities's languanges such as the Tibetian and the Mongolian.
