Study And Implement On Input Interface Of The Integrated Services Terminal

IST(the Integrated Services Terminal) is a equipment based on a new kind of CATV network, which makes users not only carry out these functions such as Internet, DTV and IP telephone, but also enjoy the increment operation including ordering video programme, shopping at home, network game, long-distance education on only one net. It need a kind of powerful input and control device for the terminal. This paper focuses on the input technology of the Integrated Services Terminal. In the paper, we illustrate the status and significance, then introduce a kind of soft project based on completing demand analyzing.It expatiates the design and implement of correlative software, which includes two parts—the software design of infrared remote controlling device and the design and implement of input method.In order to develop the software design of infrared remote controlling device, we studied IrDA Tiny Transport Protocol, and modified it creatively to satisfy IST. Then, we introduced the hardware of the infrared remote controlling device. At last, according to the modified IrDA Tiny Transport Protocol and the hardware, we designed the software and delivered the procedural flow chart. After debugging time and again, the remote device can work correctly.According to the acquirement of international and local, thinking about IST, we modified and created a kind of input method server, which can support every kind of input method and be patulous. In order to design it, we modified and created those procedure, such as data configuration of input method, IC configuration, the implement of UI, the implement of event handling, the implement of XIM protocol and the communication between input method server and input method. To convenience the input of chinese and character in IST, we especially designed cursor following mode and screen input.We designed the phonetics input and the stroke input. We emphasized stroke input and configured it and designed its interface function.At last, we debated the debuggings including the firm of remote control device and input methods, which prove that the design fulfils the destined goal and satisfies the demand of input control of IST.
