In order to provide better collaborative work, discussion and modification of results must be provided for the team-workers. While the current collaborative white-board tools can only support the communication between community members but the discussion and modification of results. Although application share can support the discussion and modification of results, it only can be worked serially. As a result, a new collaborative method was designed to solve the above problems, which could conduct direct mutual operations among group members, and could discuss and modify results collaboratively.The thesis studied CSCW theories( including CSCW application system architecture), group collaborative model, its mechanism as well as key technologies of group communication. And it analyzed the principles and characteristics of typical electronic white-board in CSCW application system. On the basis of the studies, an implementation method was proposed by adopting Java.A program which could achieve the synchronization of such items as audio, video and timestamp field of RTP packet header, and a concurrency control algorithm based on local modification strategies were proposed, which could ensure the synchronization and consistency of the result display and processing of each node. Meanwhile the general structure of white-board application was designed in distance education. And prototyping system of white-board application system was realized.
