The Design Of Passenger-oriented Traffic Voice Information Releasing System Based On TTS Technology

With the increasing investment in highway construction and the deterioration of traffic congestion, traffic information on the highway and the traffic management information are increasingly needed to be obtained conveniently and quickly. So the releasing quality of traffic induct information is necessary to be enhanced largely, on the other side, the development of electronic and computer makes possible the releasing technology of traffic voice induct information based on network.The electronic display screen, centralized wireless radio, guidance system in vehicle and network are the most popular traffic information releasing methods. While short information and readable distance, vulnerable by the weather, and shortage pertinence to the information are the disadvantages of electronic display screen, the less pertinence to the information is the bottleneck of the centralized wireless radio because of its wide cover area. Despite of less weather influence, the short information quantity and the high construction cost are the shortages of the guidance system in vehicle. When it comes to network, since it's impossible to browse the web, it's just a suggestion before travel. In a word, all these methods obstruct the further use of traffic information, and restrict the broadcast of highway traffic information. So a highway traffic information releasing method is becoming the key technology of highway management.A audio-frequency information releasing method based on C/S structure was brought about.. According to this method, server and client were combined together to be a LAN, and the traffic induction text information generated by the server was transmitted to the client through this LAN, then the text information was transformed to be audio information with TTS technology in the client. The traffic audio-frequency induction system software was developed by Delphi 7.0, combined with Socket and TTS technology. In this system, the information need of travelers was analyzed in detail, and a traffic induction strategy was put forward, furthermore, some functions such as information transmission between one server and multi-clients, text to audio transformation are realized. Finally, the function and reliability of the system was tested. The feasibility of system software design was verified by the results, and some reference and instruction value to relative systems can be got from it.
