In the WSNs (wireless sensor networks), the MAC(medium access control) protocol decides how to use the wireless channel ,and distributes the limited communication resource in the sensor nodes, in order to structure the systematic sensor network bottom infrastructure. It is on the basic part of the wireless sensor networks protocols, and it has great affect on the wireless sensor networks' performance as one of the important protocols that can guarantee efficient communication of the wireless sensor networks. Because the sensor nodes can not power themselves or can not power enough, we should consider the energy-efficient first. For the traditional wireless networks we should consider the network-efficient first, which means the MAC protocol for traditional wireless networks is not adapt to the wireless sensor networks. So we must research new MAC protocol for wireless sensor networks. This thesis analyses the function of many typical MAC protocols that have been presented, and researches the EBRI-MAC particularly. To make some improvements, we will present TLVC-MAC , in which , an idea of three layers virtual cluster based on data deliveries is proposed in order to improve the energy-efficient and save more energy. By building a theory model and carrying out a series of calculated analysis, do some companies on the number of virtual cluster , energy-efficient and the through-out etc. Also verified by matlab construction, at last we can see TLVC-MAC has better energy-efficient than EBRI-MAC.
