As the higher accuracy, higher efficiency and automation of metal cutting are needed, accuracy prediction is imperative in order to improve efficiency of Numerical Control machine tools and reduce cost. But all the predictive methods can not meet the requirement of productions at now, so this paper presents a accuracy prediction prototype system to for physical simulation based on finite element which can predict accuracy in design. With this method, efficiency will be approved, design cycle will be shortened and cost is reduced. In this paper, the technology of physical simulation and accuracy prediction was further studied. The general thought, basic requirement and key technology of the accuracy prediction prototype system are put forward. The key of this prototype system are physical simulation and accuracy prediction. The former is realized by finite element method. A dynamic milling force was added in finite element method to simulate the real NC milling process. In finite element, machining error such as vibration, forced deformation and heated deformation can be considered; the latter is realized by MATLAB. Models of surface roughness, straightness, flatness and line profile are established, and so does evaluation algorithm of this prototype system. This prototype system is developed on VC++, and some experiments are carried out to verify correctness of this system.
