Plasma Display Panel (PDP) is a self-lighting panel display device using the gas discharge principle. Recently, because of the huge market of the HDTV, the technology and industry of PDP have developed quickly. This paper depends on the physical model of the AC-PDP's gas discharge, by using computer to calculate to get the three wavelength VUV (Vacuum Ultraviolet) photons' density and their distribution the time. By counting all the VUV photons' density, all of the VUV photons' energy released from the discharge can be cumulated, and we can get the numerical value of the PDP' VUV luminous efficiency is 17.8%. At the same time, this paper also calculated the VUV luminous efficiency beyond different parameters such as voltage,distance of the electrode,pressure,secondary emission etc., discussed the reason of the change of the luminous efficiency, then discussed the energy transfer in the discharge process, and know that the energy of the Xe particles (Xer,Xe2u,Xe2y) is a small part of all the energy got from the outside electric field, the numerical value of it is about 24.6%, this is why the luminous efficiency of PDP is so low. At last, this paper summarized the whole process of the simulation and discussed the error in the theoretical analyses.
