High Speed Milling(HSM) is the developing trend of NC machining.Compared to conventional NC machining strategies,HSM has several extra advantages.With the wide application of HSM, the research on HSM technology is becoming more and more important.In our country,the research of HSM application just starts,and it still has a lot of shortages compared with those of other countries.This paper makes some researches on spiral tool-path strategy and milling parameters optimization according to the requirements of enterprises.And the main research achievements are as following:Spiral tool-path strategy of HSM is studied.This paper studies the file of triangular meshes, its data structure and NC program technology for triangular meshes.A new spiral tool-path generation algorithm of HSM is proposed based on the triangular meshes.Lots of simulation and machining results demonstrate the validity of the algorithm.Milling parameters optimization technology is studied by applying NC machining simulation software VERICUT.This paper analyses optimization parameters, optimization objectives and optimization methods which VERICUT uses.And the approach how to optimize NC program and improve NC machining efficiency is discussed.An approach of milling parameters optimization based on genetic algorithm is studied.A mathematic model on milling parameters optimization is built.It proposes a milling parameters multi-objective optimization based on genetic algorithm.Finally,the method is verified feasible by simulating examples.
