In recent years, as the mobile display equipment including smartphone and tablets becomes fashionable, flat display devices are demanded to be thinner and lighter, which makes the OLED first rise abruptly in the small and medium size display. AMOLED market share will increase further in the future and the OLED module of smartphone is rare used in current domestic market, so there exists huge research and development space in the field of driving and display technology. So it is a significant thing of using new generation of display technology widely on smartphone products in years to come in.The best way to achieve high-performance flat display is to employ AMOLED display technology. In order to follow up the display and driving technology of OLED module, a 5.5-inch HD OLED prototype with high-performance display effect is designed and manufactured in this paper. So this theme contributes to accumulate some experience which is related to OLED technology, and affords support for characteristic development in the display field of mobile phone. Because there are immense differences between OLED module and the traditional LCD module on the driving power, two power supplies called PVDD and PVEE are required in the self-luminous OLED module screen for luminous devices. Voltage conversion circuit need to be added on account of two channels power can’t be directly output by the mainboard. Finally the ultra-thin and high color gamut prototype is completed.At first, this paper introduces the background knowledge of organic light-emitting display technology, light-emitting principle, driving technology and the realization method of colorization, as well as the characteristics of OLED displays, history of development and present research status. Then this paper describes the selected module panel, driving power chip, three module screen of optimized processes and some problems with solutions. Through this experiment, it demonstrates the feasibility of achieving to drive OLED module on the original LCD architecture. Based on the research of its driving technology, optical testing, electrical properties testing, and image quality evaluation or analysis are completed on this HD OLED prototype. Ultimately, the purposes in this paper to study the driving and display technology of AMOLED module screen are achieved. According to the measurement data, there are series of defective problems which include short working life, ghosting image, high power consumption and uniformity of luminance in current research. In order to alleviate the problem, some guided and technical proposals in the last paragraph are put forward for the further research and development.
