The state monitor center is in charge of RF performance test for GSM mobile.To ensure the test task can be finished efficiently and timely, according to the characteristic of GSM mobile test task which is a heavy duty and up-to-date, we develop a set of automatic test system on the base of Virtual Instrument technology. The system given by this paper can efficiently cover most of GSM terminal used in GSM900 and DCS1800 frequency band.During the process of the design and implementation of the system, the author mainly did the following tasks:1.Write the code of the instrument driver. To ensure that the computer can control the instrument working on the correct test methods.2. Write the code of the control software. Test engineer use automatic test software to control the instrument for testing, and completing data acquisition, processing and displaying test results, and finally generating the test reports.3.Design the database. The management of instruments status and test results or any other related information of EUT can also be saved by the database.4.Design the link of switch unit, and give the suggestion about PCB design. Make sure that the link of switch unit is steady and extendable, increase the working speed of hardware, and reduce the cost of switch unit.The automatic test system is steady and accurate, and the software adpot humanity design so that the user can grasp easily. The system also have open interface for extending the system function. The system has been used for GSM mobile test by The state monitor center.
