This paper presents the research and planning of the IP stylizing of the mobile metropolitan area transmission network. First,it analyzes the existing technologies of metropolitan area transmission network and compares their characteristics and applications environment. Then focuses on the technology of PTN (Packet Transport Network) and points out that as the critical component of next-generation networks, PTN possesses the advantages of low-cost and Statistical division multiplexing on the Ethernet singnals. As a result, the paper recommends PTN as the key technology to propel network architecture evolution.The paper particularly analyses the existing transmission network of the Zhejiang Mobile, its challenges and development trends. Then discusses the application modes of PTN, PON in the process of ALL IP. Additionally, the paper presents detailed update planning under the TD-SCDMA network planning of CMCC. And the models for the access network IP stylizing at the Xi Hu division are constructed at last.This research and planning of the Zhejiang Mobile metropolitan area transmission network presented in the paper are based on background of ALL IP trends in the existing networks. The research results serve as the basis for the net improvement projects of Zhejiang local transmission network. The model proposed in the paper has already been adopted in the sixth development phase of the construction, among which the plan under the TD-SCDMA enviroments of the Hangzhou metropolitan area transmission network is currently being executed.
