Huzhou Telecom IP Metro Network Optimization Design

The broadband IP MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) is a backbone IP network built by telecommunication companies within the scope of metropolitan area. It is an important information infrastructure in the city and is also an important support for telecommunication companies to obtain improving achievements. In recent years, along with the fast growth of business demanding and continuous expanding of the size of the network, the original MAN has been unable to meet the demand of the dynamic increase in communication services. The defects of the old network have been gradually exposed as follows: firstly, it was not reasonably structured; secondly, its expansibility and stability were not satisfied; thirdly, it could only offer weak support to the new communication services.This paper demonstrates how to achieve an advanced IP network which has advanced technology, comparatively stability, strong scalability and powerful transmission capacity as well as service functions through the optimization of the whole network.First of all, this paper elaborates the necessity, feasibility and the significance of the broadband IP MAN optimization for Huzhou Telecom. Before introducing the detailed optimization program, the paper introduces some related theories involved in MAN optimization.Then, the paper makes a thorough and careful analysis on the current situation of the IP MAN of Huzhou Telecom and points out the existing problems from the point of the network organization and the operation implementation.Next, the paper puts forward a detailed optimization proposal. The optimization proposal starts from the optimization of the physical network of the IP MAN, and carries out from three aspects. Firstly, to obtain an advanced physical network, reasonable topological structure and flexible services realization by optimization of the core layer, converge layer and access layer; secondly, to obtain dynamic routing protection and decreasing economical equipments payload by the re-planning of the routing organization and IP address distribution; lastly, to obtain an advanced stable network by optimizing and designing on the whole network security strategy.At last, the paper makes a summary on the optimization proposal of the broadband IP MAN of Huzhou Telecom, and makes an outlook on the tendency of the MAN technology and the communication service development.
