The Research And Implementation Of Datacenter Management Platform Based On REST Architectural Style

With the development of network and computer technology, many companies and enterprises founded their datacenters during the informationization process. In these datacenter, there are many enterprise applications, such as office automation systems, personnel management systems and financial systems, which are deployed on hundreds of different kinds of servers. Because of this reason, these datacenters are the informationization heart of these companies and enterprises. In order to make them work efficiently and steadily, the management must be effective and related tools are very essential. Now, the requirements and the ways of datacenter management are very various and flexible, so the datacenter management tools must be provided with better flexibility and scalability.This paper analyzed the challenges of the datacenter management and the current situation of datacenter management platform, then pointed out that the next generation of datacenter management platform which must be more flexible, versatile and scalable should not only resolve the existing problems, but also meet basic requirement of virtual datacenter. In order to meet these requirements, this paper did some research on the architecture of datacenter management platform, compared several distributed architecture designs which are used widely, analyzed the REST architectural style, focused on the advantage of the combination of REST and datacenter management platform design. Then, the paper analyzed the management content and hierarchical structure in the complex enterprise IT environments, defined the basic function of datacenter management platform. At the same time, the research of next generation datacenter indicates that virtualization will be the typical feature of it. Datacenter management platform must have the ability of providing more flexible resource scheduling and dynamic workload adjustment, must be more easily extended and customized. On this basis, a datacenter management platform based on REST architectural style was designed which functions can be customized easily, it has strong agility, scalability and flexibility, and can meet the requirements of the next generation datacenter management. At last, the paper developed the main functions of this platform, and elaborated on the design and implement of performance management function to give a more detailed description.
