The Design And Development Of A REST Architecture Based School Management System

With the rapid development of information technology, various Web applicationshave been widely used in daily work of different Enterprises and institutions. Thereare problems such as different manufacturer system cannot compatible, unable toexchange data; new products cannot compatible with existing systems and even thedifferent versions of the same product also cannot compatible with the original data.How to improve the reuse and integration of the Web system, remote calls to all kindsof Web services and how to use the HTTP protocol, unified interface, reducedevelopment complexity has become problems for the schools to face in developinginformation system.This paper first analyzes the various common distributed architecture, leads toREST framework, and shows the student/teacher management system and coursemanagement system as examples in the construction of campus information, under theresource-centric design principles and implements. Design a REST structure of thecampus information system, and use Ruby on Rails to realize students' managementsystem, with the Struts+Hibnernate+Spring framework and Struts REST realize thecurriculum management system, and then integrated students management system andcourse management system to realize students' performance management, to provethat REST framework can realize that the data of the swaps, Web system data andremote calls the reuse of Web services. Finally, this paper summarizes someexperience for agile development under the resource-centric design principles and theusage of Ruby on Rails.
