Many rounds of revolution have emerged since the born of Internet and a new round is still going on. In recent years, Web 2.0 stands for the core of new round revolution. And behind the Web 2.0, a new technology named Ajax becomes more and more popular.Ajax is a technology used in browser. Ajax is the combination of several traditional technologies and it improves the ability of communication between server and browser. Actually Ajax is an intelligent Web client. It enables that the browser can communication with the server asynchronously and avoid the refresh of whole Web page. Then the Ajax application has a friendly user interface. Ajax improves the computing ability of browser and decrease the burden of server. Then Web application becomes more scalable. Those characteristic of Ajax make it different from traditional Web applications. But when it comes to developing Ajax application, many developers have used to software architectures and developing methods which is invent for traditional Web applications. As a result, our interest always is not proportional with our cost.Based on these problems existing in Ajax developing, we have analyzed Ajax technology and Ajax application, and tried to find a suitable architecture for Ajax application. In practice, we have studied existing architecture and induced the Ajax/REST architecture style. The style is followed the main constrain of REST and the main characteristic of Ajax applications. At the end, combined with a software project, we develop an Ajax developing framework which is based on Ajax/REST architecture style. And the framework can be used to develop Ajax application by paying little effort. Finally we use framework to develop Ajax applications and the effectiveness of framework and Ajax/REST architecture style have been proven.
