This paper, researching on the thermal transfer technology, is mainly about the practical application of thermal transfer technology which emphasize on how to apply the thermal transfer technology to portable devices. In this passage there is a complete design of the portable, thermal transfer technology, label printer.From the practical application, I design the portable printer according to the industrial and manufacturing needs based on the delicacy, power saving and stability. The whole control system is based on TI MSP430 MCU which is an embedded technology application.This passage firstly introduced the working principles and traits as the key part is the controlling of the printer head. Secondly, this paper talks about how to make sure the synchronization between printer paper and printer output under the circumstance of using thermal transfer technology. Choosing proper motor for experiment, research on realizing controlling methods, controlling algorithms, out layer modules design including LCD display and keyboards which are used for the controlling and display during the printing are also included in this paper. After finishing each module we design pc connecting device which is easy for the change of data in the memory card. Then I establish font data for display and printing.After finishing all the parts there comes a portable printer. Designing hard ware PCB, adjusting the software process and finally we complete the whole thermal transfer technology practical application.To sum up, based on existing technique and theory, this article focus mainly on research and development of detailed application on fully understanding correlative theory, and a certain extent achievement has got.
