With the continuous development and innovation of industrial technology,label printer is becoming more and more widely used in the industrial field,label printer performance is increasingly required in various applications.Traditional label printer have low print quality,carbon ink is accumulated during long-term printing,and the service life of the print head will be affected.Therefore,the label printer used in the industry need to be further improved to increase print quality.The key control technology in the label printer directly affects the printing performance,in this paper,key control technology of industrial label printer is deeply studied,a control scheme based on FPGA is presented,the parallel features of FPGA are fully utilized,make it better to be used in industrial label printers.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:1.This thesis starts from the research background and significance of industrial label printer,the current research status and existing problems of industrial label printer is analyzed,and the overall design scheme of industrial label printer is determined,the control mechanism of the industrial label printer is introduced,and then the working principle of the thermal print head and the control strategy of the industrial label printer is analyzed.2.The key technologies of serial parallel data conversion,stepper motor control and thermal print head control are studied in detail.In the serial-parallel data conversion research,it mainly solves the data transmission problem between ARM and FPGA;in the research of stepper motor control,the subdivision drive control technology is used to ensure its smooth operation;the thermal print head control includes an intelligent heating algorithm to ensure clear print images,and an asynchronous FIFO controller is used to ensure the accuracy of the thermal print head's data transmission.Then,the top-down design method is adopted,the key control technology is divided into serial parallel data conversion module,stepper motor control module and thermal print head control module for FPGA design.Thermal print head control module is divided into heating control module and data transfer module.The functions of each module in this thesis are implemented by writing Verilog HDL separately.3.Experimental simulation verification platform is built,the above modules are emulated and verified by writing Testbench,the simulation results are analyzed,the above modules are verified to meet the requirements of industrial label printer under the master clock of 50 MHz.4.All the above modules designed are debuged at board level,Vivado's own logic analyzer is used to capture the internal output of FPGA in real time,by analyzing the waveform data,the output results reach the design goal,and the correctness of each module design is verified.
